Baseline does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data. Everything you enter stays on your device.
Baseline is a mood-tracking app for iPhone. It is built to keep your information private by design: there are no accounts, no servers, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. This policy explains what that means in practice.
When you use Baseline, the entries you create — your mood ratings, sleep hours, symptom markers, and notes — are saved only on your device, in the app's private storage. This data never leaves your iPhone unless you choose to export or back it up yourself (see below).
Nothing. The app has no network connection to any server operated by the developer. We do not receive, see, or have any access to your entries or any other information about how you use the app. We do not use analytics, advertising identifiers, cookies, or third-party software development kits (SDKs).
Baseline lets you export your data as a JSON backup, a CSV file, or a PNG image, and to save a backup file in the app's folder. These actions are entirely under your control. When you export or share, iOS hands the file to whatever destination you pick (for example the Files app, Mail, or Messages). Once a file leaves the app this way, it is subject to the privacy practices of wherever you send it. The developer is not involved in and has no visibility into these transfers.
Exported and backed-up files contain no information identifying you. Baseline never attaches your name, email address, account, or any device identifier to your entries, so a backup holds only dates, mood ratings, sleep hours, symptom markers, and whatever you have written in the notes field. The notes field stores exactly what you type into it — so if you would like an export to stay free of identifying details, avoid entering names or other identifying information in your notes.
Because the app's document folder is accessible through the Files app, any backup you save there is visible to you (and to anyone with access to your device or your device backups). Treat exported files like any other personal document.
Mood, sleep, and symptom entries can be sensitive. Baseline treats them with the same principle as everything else: they are stored locally, are never transmitted to the developer, and are never shared with third parties. Baseline does not read from or write to Apple Health, and it is a personal self-tracking tool — it is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Your data remains on your device until you delete it. You can remove individual entries within the app, and you can delete all app data by deleting the app from your iPhone. Because the developer never holds a copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our end and no request needed — you are always in full control.
The app itself sends no diagnostic data anywhere. If you have enabled Apple's "Share With App Developers" setting on your iPhone, Apple may provide the developer with anonymized crash and usage statistics that Apple collects at the system level. That data is gathered and controlled by Apple, is not linked to your identity, and never includes your entries. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. It is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Baseline is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect information from anyone — including children — because the app collects no information at all.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a revised effective date. Because the app collects no data, any future changes would relate only to how the app works, not to how your information is handled.
